What's in a name?
My children love animals, but owls in particular. Maybe because they're found everywhere on kids' items (clothes, toys, décor, etc.), but my sons, and my youngest especially, love them all the same.
Because of the fondness for owls in this house, I cultivated a special interest in them, looking up interesting owl facts to surprise them with, as long as they'll let me. In my journey through the owlsphere, I stumbled upon the fact that owls are antisocial, messy, and generally unfriendly creatures (everyone besides their mate or offspring is an enemy!). As displeasing as this is to reconcile with the idea of a cute, large-eyed storybook character peeking out of a tree hollow, I was still taken by the idea of this stately, enigmatic bird being a secret curmudgeonly slob. I found the idea of a happy owl's home being a neat and cozy nest amusing, and so decided to take up the mantle of owl PR (propaganda?) and add to the owl misinformation zeitgeist by taking the owl's public persona and adding to its whorl of untrue attributes neat, clean, and organized.
Here at Happy Owl Home we both create and curate items that inspire bouts of decluttering, encourage stress-free cleaning and (hopefully) inject whimsy into your daily routine.
